Welcome to the Jay Dix Challenge to Cure. This year we are excited to offer three different events for all levels on a single day – Saturday, April 9, 2005. This has become a family event with a distance and race for everyone. Included in our distances are a 5K Walk, 5K Run, and 10K Run. All of these events will start together from the University of Missouri Heinkel Building located at 6th & Elm Street in Columbia, Missouri. For Kids not participating in the run, there is a supervised fun area at Peace Park.

FREE RACE DAY - SKIN CANCER SCREENING - This screening service is a free and is open to the pubic!

Race Features:

A distance for everyone. We hope you will bring your entire family to this event. Distances included are a 5K Walk, 5K Run, and 10K Run. Strollers are welcome for walkers.

Your entry fee includes a post race buffet provided by Cattleman's Association and Shiloh Bar & Grill.

Water stations will be found at each mile market of the event and will be stocked with water, Gatorade, and plenty of volunteers.

Supervised Kid's fun area in Peace Park available from 8:30am - 11:00am so mom and dad can run in the race (K-8).

A free Jay Dix Challenge to Cure T-shirt will be given to all participants.

The race will utilize computer chip timing. Each runner will receive a chip that will automatically record the runner’s time upon crossing the finish line.

KRCG - 13 An awards ceremony will be held with awards to the top 3 finishers in each age group.

Beer Garden and Live Music on the Shiloh Bar & Grill Patio - Right across the street!

All profits from entry fees will directly benefit local cancer research projects through Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. In addition, funds will help support local cancer screening and awareness at local area races. Additional donations are welcome and will benefit cancer research at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center. You can make additional donations on your entry form.

Don't forget the free cancer screening on Race Day. Ellis Fischel staff will be on site with the mobile cancer screening van.
